Mellow Mountain Hostel

We are a comfortable backpackers hostel in South Lake Tahoe with European style accommodations made up of shared rooms. Our hostel is about community and creating a social experience. Our guests include travelers from around the globe. Our median age of guests is between 20-30 years of age, but we welcome all ages.

We have a zero-tolerance policy for violence and illegal drug use. Smoking is outdoors only. We do not allow visitors after 10:00 PM, but we do offer a day pass for shower use, kitchen access, and use of the laundry facility from 9:00 AM to 10:00 PM.

Mellow Mountain Hostel is located in the area known as Lakeside in South Lake Tahoe. The hostel is a short walk to the beach, casinos, dozens of restaurants, Heavenly Village, and the Heavenly Mountain Gondola.

This is a travelers hostel. We do not accommodate local residents. California State or Nevada State ID’s must have an address further than a 25-mile radius away from zip code 96150 or additionally present a document showing an event in South Lake Tahoe that you plan to attend.


 

 

PLEASE READ THIS TERMS AND CONDITIONS AGREEMENT CAREFULLY, AS IT CONTAINS IMPORTANT INFORMATION REGARDING YOUR RESERVATION.
The following terms and conditions of Mellow Mountain Hostel (hereinafter referred to as “we”, “our” or “us”) apply to your reservations. By making your reservations over the phone, in person, or using our online reservation system, you understand, acknowledge and agree to our terms and conditions. We reserve the right to cancel a reservation without notice if we become aware of or are notified of any fraud or illegal activity associated with this reservation.

ONLINE RESERVATIONS ARE PREFERRED Advance reservations are highly recommended, especially for private rooms, weekend stays and during our high season (June through September; December through April).

We welcome walk-in guests whenever possible.

CANCELLATION/CHANGE POLICY If you need to cancel or make changes to your reservation, call +1 (530) 600-3272 or email cancel@mellowmountainhostel.com

The deadline to cancel or change your reservation is 12:00 p.m. PST, two days before your arrival date. If you do not cancel by the deadline, or if you do not arrive on the reserved date, we will charge your credit card for one night’s accommodation per person, and any additional nights reserved will be canceled.

PAYMENT A VISA or MasterCard is required for reservations. At check-in, you can choose to pay with cash.

MAXIMUM STAY No guest may stay more than 21 consecutive nights.

PET POLICY Pets must be registered before time of check-in. Pets will only be considered on a situational basis, and we reserve the right to turn away guests who bring pets.  If we do allow a pet to stay with us, the guest will need to purchase a private room or all 4-beds in a dorm room.  The guest will also need to pay an additional cleaning cost ($25.00 USD) per stay and have a credit card on file with us in case of damage.

CHECK-IN/CHECK-OUT

  • You must be over 18 years of age to check-in.
  • A valid government-issued ID is required at the time of check-in. (passport, driver’s license, state or military ID card)
  • A credit or debit card is required at check-in. (VISA, MasterCard, American Express & Discover). At check-in, you can choose to pay with cash.
  • Your accommodations are normally available after 4:00 PM on your scheduled arrival date.
  • Check-out time is by 12:00 PM of your scheduled departure date.
  • We are open 24 hours a day, year-round and our office hours are 9:00 AM to 10:00 PM daily.

GUEST ROOM DAMAGE Guest assumes all responsibility for any damages to the guest room or its contents.

SMOKE-FREE GUEST ROOM POLICY Although smoking is not permitted within our guest rooms, guests who smoke are permitted to do so outside in designated areas. There is a significant room recovery fee for guests who do not comply in order to cover the extensive cost of restoring our guest rooms to a smoke-free condition. Minimum guest room recovery fees range from USD $237 to $675.

SPECIAL REQUESTS Our system places you in the first available bed. We are unable to guarantee multiple bed reservations in the same room. If you are traveling with other guests and want to be in the same room call or email us to make arrangements.

 We do not assign bunks so if you have an injury or special need please email or call us to make arrangements 

THIRD PARTY RESERVATIONS/CREDIT CARD USER If you are making reservations on behalf of another person (“credit card holder”), you make the following representations and warranties and further agree to comply with the terms and conditions stated below: (1) You have obtained legal authorization from the credit card holder to make reservations on behalf of the credit card holder and agree to our terms and conditions on the credit card holder’s behalf and thereby bind credit card holder to our terms and conditions; (2) The Guest Information you have provided above, e.g., name, phone number, address, and email is that of the credit card holder; (3) You have advised the credit card holder that we do not impose any third party booking charges and we will accept reservations directly from the credit card holder; and (4) You will inform the credit card holder of all our Terms and Conditions, and provide the credit card holder with reservation confirmation(s) and any other information or correspondence pertaining to the credit card holder’s reservations.

TRAVEL AGENTS Our online reservation system is not intended for travel agent bookings. We do not pay travel agent commissions.
